Main Role:
The Quality Manager is responsible for overall development, implementation, and maintenance of the organization’s Quality Management System (QMS).
Main Responsibilities:
- Ensure that the organization’s Quality Management System conforms to customer, internal, ISO 9001, and regulatory/legal requirements.
- Ensure evaluation of, and reporting on, vendor quality systems.
- Oversee inspection (examination) of incoming materials, ensuring that they meet requirements.
- Manage the monitoring, measurement, and review of internal processes, especially those that affect the quality of the organization’s products.
- Lead a team of Quality engineers, technicians, inspectors, auditors, analysts, and technicians.
- Work with customers, employees, contractors, and outsourcing firms to develop product requirements.
- Report to top management on the performance of the QMS (e.g., results of quality audits, corrective actions), including the need for improvement.
- Conduct periodic management review meetings.
- Oversee product recalls.
- Responsible for accuracy and timely inspection/calibration of monitoring and measuring devices.
- Keep up on standards, regulations/laws, issues, and news with respect to product (service) quality.
- Work with Production Management and Quality Assurance to provide feedback to assemblers regarding accuracy of assembly procedures.
- Perform review of Product History Records and other documentation for compliance with established procedures and Good Documentation Practices
- Participate in Kaizen and 5S activities in Team.
- Perform other duties as required or assigned.
Knowledge, skills and experience required:
- B.S. degree in Industrial, Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering desired.
- Minimum 7 years related manufacturing experience required. Plastic injection mold preferred.
- Supervisory/management experience.
- ISO, Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing techniques.
- Experience with developing/documenting procedures.
- Use of Quality Engineering methods in inspection.
- Computer proficiency.
Physical requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
- Must be able to access all areas of the facility to review quality.
