The Cancer Institute is now hiring for a driven and compassionate part-time MA at our Nampa Cancer Care Center located on the Nampa Medical Center campus! ***$1,125 sign on bonus offered to external candidates!*** About this Position As an MA at the Nampa Cancer Institute, you will primarily support a Nurse Practitioner and also help support other providers and clinical support staff. You will complete chart prep, assist patients with moving within the clinic, take vitals, set up for procedures, schedule new patients and follow up visits and complete related paperwork. You will also coordinate with pre-auth and dosimetry staff to schedule procedures, and provide comfort to patients who come for treatment. You may also occasionally assist the provider with bone marrow biopsies and perform phlebotomy. Work Schedule/Locations: This position will work 30 hours per week, 3 - 10 hour days, during the week, Mondays - Fridays. Shifts typically start around 7:00am - 7:30am. Clinic start and end time can vary based on physician's schedule. This position will not work weekends or major holidays. Learn more about the Cancer Institute: https://www.saintalphonsus.org/specialty/cancer-care/ Education and Certification Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent required. *MA certification required within 90 days of eligibility to take a national certification exam from one of the following Saint Alphonsus approved agencies: American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA) American Medical Technologists (RMA) National Healthcare Association (CCMA) National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA) American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA) Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers certification from either AHA, ARC or the Military Training Network is required at hire *If you do not have a certification you would be required to obtain a test date and take the national certification exam within 90 days after eligibility to test, if selected for a position. Note the above credentialing organizations have very specific requirements in order to quality to take the certification exam, such as 1 year of MA experience in the last 3 years or recent graduate of MA program. New graduates are required to complete at least a 100 hour externship. General Requirements: Previous clinical experience preferred. Electronic health record (EHR) experience a plus. Experience with process improvement or LEAN philosophy preferred.
