Overview
A Risk Management Analyst is responsible for identifying potential risks that may affect the company's performance and strategize techniques to mitigate risks. The Risk Management Analyst evaluates the operational processes and ensures adherence to business requirements and regulations. They also identify opportunities that would increase the company's brand image to the market and generate more revenue resources to improve profitability. A Risk Management Analyst facilitates training programs and activities for the employees and implements policies to prevent operational delays and process failures.
Responsibilities
- Facilitates the execution of the Credit Union’s Enterprise Risk Management Program (ERM).
- Ensures compliance with established Company policies and procedures.
- Assists with the identification and management of key operational risk issues.
- Lead or assist the implementation of risk assessment process, issues tracking, and measurement of and trend analysis of key risk indicators and key performance indicators.
- Supports the Business Lines Management in interpreting findings from regulators, auditors, and compliance reviews, helping address the finding and designing control.
- Assists with the collection of information for preparation of monthly and quarterly risk management reports (including KRIs and KPIs for credit, liquidity, market, operational, strategic, compliance/legal, reputational, and other risks).
- Prepares and updates risk assessments, risk framework; monitoring and keeping them up to date to ensure appropriate management.
- Ensures all relevant management develop and communicate risk management policies, risk appetite and risk limits within agreed timeframes.
- Assists in ensuring action plans associated with identified risk issues are communicated and actioned within applicable timelines.
- Lead training for Risk Team and Business Lines on risk identification, control design, control self-testing, findings, and resolution documentation.
- Assists in establishing, communicating, and facilitating the use of appropriate Risk Management methodologies, tools, and techniques.

Preferred Skills:
- Prior work as a Risk Management Analyst or as an Auditor.
- Knowledge of all laws, rules, and regulations applicable to Idaho Central Credit Union.
- Creativity, self-starting attitude, and effective communication.
- Experience with basic data analytics.
- Experience in root cause analysis and problem solving.
- Knowledge of risk management practices.
- Possess the ability to conduct in-depth research on issues related to regulations, accounting, and compliance items, and to synthetize and communicate the takeaways succinctly and timely.
- Ability to navigate the GRC software in tracking issues, updating risk assessments, risk matrices and other reporting capabilities.
- Intermediary Excel, basic Access; Other analytics tools, such as SQL, Power BI, SAP-BI a plus.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree preferred or equivalent experience. 0 – 3 years’ experience required. Ability to work with and communicate with all Credit Union personnel in the various departments. Ability to always maintain confidentiality of Credit Union and member records.
Performance Standard:
A demonstrated cooperative and positive attitude toward members and other Credit Union staff. Be able to diagnose problems. Professional in appearance, attendance, quality, and quantity of work performed. Ability to work without supervision. Must be willing to comply with the Bank Secrecy Act and USA Patriot Act as implemented by Idaho Central Credit Union.
Physical Requirements:
- Perform tasks requiring manual dexterity (processing paperwork, filing, stapling, sorting, collating, typing, counting cash, etc.).
- Sit for extended periods of time.
- Lift 20-40 pounds of applicable supplies including but not limited to copy paper, cash drawers, marketing material, etc.
- Repetitive motion using wrists, hands, and fingers.
- Reach keyboards.
- Ability to operate basic office machines (calculator, computer, telephone, copy machine, fax machine, etc.).
