Idaho National Laboratory is hiring a Experiment Design Engineer to work in our Experiment Design department. Our team works a 9x80 schedule located out of our Research Education Campus with every other Friday off.
Experiment Design Engineer to perform experiment design for testing of nuclear fuels and materials. Engineer is responsible for experiment design as well as fabrication and associated activities leading to irradiation. You will report to the manager of the Experiment Design department.
Responsibilities Include
Internal Preferred
You will create balanced solutions with teams of diverse personnel including thermal transport, nuclear physics, and structural mechanics. Familiarity with nuclear reactors and suitable components, materials, instrumentation, and fabrication methods for use in experiment capsules is desirable.
Assist more senior engineers in generating design solutions in using nuclear reactors as tools to bring about irradiation effects in nuclear materials/experiments. Have a key role in defining the approach to solving technical problems that arise during materials processing and fuel fabrication.
Minimum Requirements
- BS degree in relevant engineering or scientific discipline.
- Must be able to work in a culturally diverse environment.
- This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy "L" clearance, which requires US Citizenship.

- Salary Grade: PR0100 - 200 – ($83,412 - $137,592)

- TDP: This is a testing designated position; you will be required to submit to a pre-employment drug screen and periodic drug testing throughout the term of your employment.
