Department Supervisor - Building Automation Services

Ideal Mechanical is hiring a Department Supervisor for the Building Automation Services Group. This position will branch related issues relating to safety, customer satisfaction, employee satisfaction, profits, and sales growth. The Department Supervisor will be active in leading the sales effort for the department will conduct business in accordance with PPC and Pieper Electric, Inc. mission and vision statements.
Responsibilities:

• Lead the DDC sales effort with existing customer base, build relationships for repeat customers, and continually prospect for new customers.
• Additional responsibilities for growth include preparing and managing budgets, estimates on proposals, and building relationship networks to achieve minimum growth goals
• Achieve the minimum budgeted net profit for department
• Manage billing & collections
• Provide employee development plans, monitoring, coaching, feedback, & growth opportunities to your direct reports. Ensure that you are developing at least one candidate to back up your position.
• Interview & hire prospective employees, manage employee job performance. Complete performance appraisals timely.
• Develop and maintain relationships with customers; ensure high quality service is provided .Take prompt action to resolve any customer complaints.
• Provide the necessary direction (project management) to complete projects successfully
• Provide quotes, either alone or via staff, to new and existing customers in the areas of construction projects.
• Forecast what is to be done on a weekly basis, when, and by whom. Analyze and forecast factors that affect results to maximum efficiency. Develop appropriate programs, strategies, and supervision.
• Complete 1 & 3 year plans for department, as part of branch long-term planning process; monitor and measure progress.

Qualifications:

• Positive safety attitude and personal integrity – both are non-negotiable
• High school education is required.
• Master or Journeyman (HVAC or Plumbing) status and/or post high school formal training in estimating and project management is also required.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in DDC, estimating, selling, and project management also required.
• Knowledge of estimating, scheduling, and budget processes.
• Ability to manage risk & profitability successfully.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills required

• Have the ability to work independently, meet deadlines, work on multiple jobs simultaneously, and fulfill all job requirements in a timely fashion.

• Ability to effectively utilize basic Microsoft Suite products such as Word, Excel, and Outlook
