Your project flow will be to design, build, test, and iterate…
This is one of the few engineering jobs in which you will spend about half of your time designing in CAD, and the other half in our fab shop building and testing our concepts.
For your job you will have access to a complete welding cell including TIG and MIG welders, a CNC mill, Bridgeport type mill, lathe, and sheet metal bending and cutting capabilities.
What makes this role a senior position is that you will be expected to lead projects and be decisive about what happens next. You will be customer facing and must demonstrate an ability to communicate effectively with customers to both understand their needs as well as keep them apprised of project progress.
Required skills:
• Mechanical Engineering Degree (BS)
• 4 years of experience as a design engineer
• Project management / leadership experience
• Ability to lead projects and determine next steps
• 3-D CAD design and documentation (SolidWorks preferred)
• Hands-on experience with shop equipment
• Sheet metal & fabrication design experience
• Machined components design experience
• Able to clearly communicate concepts and technical information to co-workers and clients
• Comfortable working on a team or alone
• Willing to take initiative and manage work on several projects
Preferred Skills and Interests:
• Testing and an understanding of scientific method
• Food testing (testing a cooking appliance with food)
• Welding Capabilities (MIG & TIG)
• Experience in foodservice industry and/or consumer products
• Manufacturing experience
• Experience with electro-mechanical and automation systems
Travel:
Travel for work varies with the specific project and customer, and is a requirement. Most of the time we are in our South Burlington office, however we do travel on occasion to support our national customers for research, design, and testing when needed.
Location: South Burlington, VT
Compensation: Salary determined based on level of experience.
