What are the responsibilities and job description for the Supply Chain Manager position at IDEMIA?
Manages and oversees supply chain operations, including SI&OP (Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning), purchasing activities, logistics and production, and inventory control, in addition to, planning and supplying the materials to support plant production. Design and execute strategies and plans to meet short-term and long-term supply chain management objectives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Evaluate inventory usage using appropriate metrics and reports; while monitoring shrinkage and conducting cycle counts. Responsible for physical inventory management and assisting in coordinating material movement between the warehouse and production areas and across facilities.
- Inform management of the status of work-in-progress, material availability, and production problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials, and services are provided as needed.
- Facilitate and lead monthly Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning (SI&OP) process designed to reconcile demand and supply based on constraints due to capacity, scheduling, materials, warehousing, distribution and technical issues.
- Negotiate vendor contracts with vendors to secure the most commercially favorable terms for the company.
- Attend daily scheduling meetings to review and help coordinate production planning; keep Production Managers/ Supervisors aware of scheduling requirements and/or modifications; alter the planning schedule, if necessary, to meet forecast changes within production.
- Make recommendations to improve productivity, quality, and efficiency of operations.
- Manage the inbound and outbound freight requirements, utilizing freight vendors and supply chain partners for transportation
- Manage international supply chain to North America within IDEMIA manufacturing network
- Supervise and develop staff to ensure that job responsibilities are met, while adhering to Company standards. Provide new hire training and on-going department training initiatives.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships within and across the departments, and maintains the professional competence, knowledge and skill necessary for the satisfactory performance of all assigned responsibilities
- Develop and manage personnel talent and performance
- Recommend the selection and termination of personnel in their assigned area.
