PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Responsible for all forecasting activities associated with customers and products. The Forecast Demand Planning Analyst creates and maintains forecast models for their assigned value streams and is responsible for updating JDE planning parameters, lead times, and providing quoting for customer sales teams.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop Demand Forecasts for assigned Value Streams using various forecasting methods
- Review sales trends, research demand drivers, prepare forecast data and evaluate forecast results
- Interact with Sales, Marketing, Buyers, Operation Planners, and Finance to understand demand drivers
- Facilitate a collaborative planning process with sales, marketing, buyers, operations planning and finance
- Coordinate cross-functional research activities to reconcile significant variances and redefine the demand forecast
- Closely coordinate and communicate customer action plans with supply chain and operations team members
- Prepare and maintain relevant reports pertaining to the demand forecasting process
- Monitor demand forecast variances and trends and collaborate on action plans with management
- Responsible for performing PFEP (Plan for Every Part) updating planning parameters for assigned manufactured value streams and updating planning parameters, lead times and OPD in JDE
- Perform quote and expedite and provide recommendations to sales teams
- Participate in lead time reduction improvement activities with operations such as RIE’s and provide expertise in planning activities including recommendations and execution of lead time reductions
- Act as a project manager for assigned projects including EPC, RIE’s, and report creation
- Provide back-up for other Forecast/Demand Planning Analysts
- Provide JDE expertise and training to planners and buyers
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field and 3-5 years related experience.
- In the absence of a degree possess at least 5-7 years of experience in forecasting and demand planning in a manufacturing environment.
OTHER SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).
- Must have good organizational abilities.
- Must work well in a team environment.
- Must possess strong analytical abilities
COMPUTER SKILLS:
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products including, but not limited to, Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Proficient with MRP systems (JD Edwards preferred, but not required)
WORK ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to move within office and manufacturing complex, write by hand and keyboard, and perform general office functions.
- Ability to communicate by speech and hearing via phone and in person.
- Visual acuity needed for close detail work and computer use.
- General manufacturing, warehouse and office environment.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
- Must have the ability to effectively communicate with customers, suppliers and all levels of corporate and company personnel.
- Must be able to work with all departments, have good communication and organizational skills, provide support to all other departments and acts as the primary interface between Viking Pump, Inc. and its suppliers.
