Job Description
As our Senior Systems Engineer, you will join our Global Support Delivery team in Itasca, Illinois or remotely in the US where we strongly believe that working hard and having fun are two compatible elements.
This role has some specific regular tasks but also has many ad hoc tasks.
Tasks include but are not limited to:
- Support internal and external customers by resolving issues logged via our case management tool.
- Work independently using experience, professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways.
- Maintain active case load, keeping all cases up to date and current on progress and status.
- Be active with the IFS Community answering questions related to the technology of the IFS suite.
- Stay current on knowledge of new IFS functionality and technology in area of expertise.
- Assist in mentoring other support analysts, building their skills in the IFS software and familiarity with internal tools and procedures.
Requirements
- Oracle DBA experience.
- Experience with modern application infrastructure with the .Net framework, Java, Oracle Database and Scripting as the platform for business applications.
- Good understanding of modern IT architecture and concepts, including servers, operating systems, virtualization, and networking.
- Ensuring product performance and maintainability by adhering to IFS’ standards, guidelines, processes, and tools.
- Experience with SSO/SSL.
- Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
- Performing comprehensive testing.
- Practice effective self-management.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Familiarity with the IFS product suite a plus.
- Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and SSRS a plus.
Qualifications
- Must be a US citizen with the ability to work with ITAR sensitive customer issues.
- BBA in MIS or BS in Computer Science with Systems Engineering emphasis or equivalent work experience.
- Oracle DBA experience.
- 3 years’ experience in a DBA or other Systems Engineering role.
- Experience with ERP applications a plus.
