What are the responsibilities and job description for the Warehouse Lead III position at IFS?
Job Functions:
Leads a staff of approximately 10 people.- Plans and schedules tasks for receiving storage and shipping of all goods
- Monitor employee performance, and provide ongoing performance feedback
- Ensure goals are met or exceeded by those on shift
- Analyze and research problems and provide resolutions
- Maximize shift productivity
- Operate industrial forklift equipped to move materials around warehouse
- Load and unload shipping containers/truck trailers
- Maintain the machines, equipment, and electrical components
- Maintain equipment (lifts) for the facility and associated operating equipment
- Trains, coaches, and provides recognition to employees to achieve continuous improvement
- In case of an emergency the Warehouse Lead must know what to do and take charge
- In the shift supervisor’s absence, the Team Lead will fill in and complete their required tasks
- Ensure compliance of all company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines by those on shift
- Leadership audits as required in signing off for outbound orders
- Perform various data entry tasks within the WMS
- Assist in training new roles to ensure the success of new hires
- Complete other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
High school diploma or general education degree, one year of experience in operating a forklift, and forklift certification; or equivalent combination of education and experience required- Current valid state driver’s license
Abilities:
Coordination skills to move controls, levers, and devises to drive industrial forklifts to transport materials between loading, unloading, processing and storage areas- Organize and secure materials where bales, boxes, sacks, pallets, and other materials are stored
- Perform routine pre and post inspections on forklift equipment to ensure forklift equipment is operating well
- Manually load or unload materials onto or off pallets, skids, platforms, or lifting devises.
- Complete forklift operator training annually, provided by company
- Consult and work with managers, supervisors, employees, and equipment to coordinate loading and unloading operations
Physical Demands:
Warehouse leads must be able to work in a physically demanding role. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to handle objects or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is required to communicate verbally and in writing with other staff members. The employee must be able to lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
