Job Description: Division Manager - Lumber and Building Materials

Location: Denver, CO

Compensation: Base Salary and Annual Bonus Opportunity

Position summary and description: A proactive, supportive, advisory resource to maximize team member sales opportunities through acquisition and administration of assigned products, managing inventory costs, delivery, and supply.

Essential Functions:

  • Actively manage all assigned inventory (as selected by the Director of Procurement) from first inquiry to final sale of the product.

  • Develops sales, gross profit, and stock turn goals annually.

  • Ensure all files and databases are maintained and updated.

  • Build a working understanding of, and provide financial analysis for, the products assigned to the department.

  • Determine and maintain inventory levels.

  • Analyzes market trends and offerings to assist in development and execution of merchandise stock

    assortments, business strategies and goals for assigned product departments.

  • Help develop and maintain variable pricing models by department and store levels.

  • Create and execute automated methods of replenishment.

  • Works closely with team members to address and maximize business opportunities, providing market information and gathering data.

  • Prepares monthly information bulletins and team members training seminars as appropriate.

  • Negotiates with vendors to obtain most favorable prices, programs, VPP and allowances to achieve

    sales and profit objectives.

  • Maintain liaison with suppliers, collect data and other information required for proper execution of buys.

  • Prepare financial analysis reports on suppliers utilizing internal tools.

  • Participate on special projects (as assigned or self-perpetuated). Set objectives, determine action

    plans, and set target completion dates.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
