What are the responsibilities and job description for the Host/Hostess position at IHOP (Mr. Stax)?
To provide prompt and efficient service to our guest using iHospitality.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain a neat and clean personal appearance adhering to IHOP and Mr. Stax Inc uniform standards at all times
- Arrive to work on time and according to posted schedules
- Be aware of station assignments
- Greet guests with a smile!
- Seat Guests using proper seating rotation and floor plan
- Execute ToGo and Curbside orders according to IHOP SOP.
- Clear extra place settings and take drink orders
- Introduce yourself to the guests, describe any specials and inform guest who your partner is should they need anything (follow IHOP Service Excellence guidelines)
- Deliver drink orders, pour coffee and ask guests if they are ready to order their meal
- Input meal order into the computer system for cook to prepare, total check
- Pick up meals in order or as called out by the Expo
- Manicure table by removing extra unnecessary items and plates from guests when finished.
- With the General Manager’s authorization, take payment (cash, credit card, gift card) at register, (and/or server banking where in effect), ring check before making change, thank guests and invite them to return
- Handle guest complaints with concern and courtesy. Report all complaints to the General Manager
- Answer phone with proper greeting and take messages accordingly. Use good phone etiquette
- Work cooperatively with all restaurant personnel
- Adhere to all Labor Laws and company guidelines
- Follow proper company safety procedures
- Follow any other procedures and duties as assigned in accordance to local, state and federal guidelines
