Our restaurant:
Our team is hard at work opening a new restaurant in Greenpoint, Brooklyn opening in October. Led by partners Mads Refslund (co-founder of Noma) and Will Douillet (The Alinea Group), we are looking for driven individuals with a keen sense for hospitality to join a world-class team to create a new kind of ambitious dining in New York City. Set in an open kitchen arranged around a custom wood-fired grill, our goal is to work together to shape a natural and refined way to engage with what we eat, how we serve, and how we fit into the larger community that surrounds us. We want to create an experience that nourishes and surprises our guests, and challenges our team. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Maitre d' to spearhead our reception systems to refine the guest relations experience.
With a menu shaped by experiences around the world, we will draw upon shared culture to envision an ingredient-focused approach rooted in our place and moment in time. Using the most carefully sourced ingredients from the Northeast, our menu will showcase innovative and precise culinary standards, while having fun with our guests and each other. Not taking ourselves too seriously, we want to provide a memorable experience that is playful, welcoming, and engaging.
Your opportunity:
As a member of the Ilis team, your duties will extend beyond traditional lines you have experienced in the industry--our staff will thrive while learning new skill sets by sharing in each other's collective talents. Dining room roles will start at $15 per hour plus tips with paid vacation, access to health benefits, and an optional 4-day work week every other schedule. The Maitre d' will also have the ability to move into a salaried manager role for the right candidate.
