Summary
The Special Events and Marketing Student Assistant will play a vital role in supporting both the coordination of events and marketing initiatives across the college campuses. This position is designed for a current student who is enthusiastic about event planning, marketing, and campus engagement, and is eager to gain hands-on experience in these areas.
Students must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours to be eligible for student employment opportunities during Fall and Spring semesters. Students must be enrolled in a minimum of 3 credit hours to be eligible for student employment opportunities during Summer semesters.
Essential Functions

Distribution of Marketing Materials: Assist in the distribution of marketing materials across campuses to promote college events, programs, and initiatives. This includes distributing flyers, posters, brochures, and other promotional materials in designated areas to maximize visibility and engagement. 2. Coordination and Setup of Events: Assist in the coordination and setup of various special events hosted by the college. This includes preparing event spaces, arranging decor and signage, and ensuring all necessary equipment and materials are in place. 3. Event Registration and Check-In: Provide support during events by assisting with attendee registration and check-in processes. This involves welcoming guests, distributing event materials, and managing attendee lists. 4. Coordination of Mascot Appearances: Work closely with the Manager of Marketing and Events to coordinate mascot appearances at events, campus activities, and community outreach initiatives. Ensure the mascot's schedule aligns with event requirements and provide assistance as needed during appearances. 5. Perform Related Duties as Required: Assist with additional tasks and projects as needed to support the overall objectives of the events and marketing departments.
Minimum Qualifications
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and abilities required to satisfactorily perform the essential duties and responsibilities.
Must be enrolled in 6 credit hours at ICC during the semester of employment for fall or spring or enrolled in 3 credit hours for summer employment.
Currently enrolled as a student at the college, pursuing a degree or certificate in marketing, communications or a related field.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer service-oriented approach to interacting with colleagues and event attendees.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience working in marketing.
