SUMMARY

The SBA Packager/Closer reports to the SBA Closing Manager. Provides administrative support relative to SBA loan origination and closing process for SBA Bankers and other SBA loan producers. Primarily responsible for preparing, processing, documenting, funding and servicing SBA Loans in accordance with INB credit policy. The position is largely that of a highly cross-trained generalist within the SBA lending specialty.

Experience and Skills:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  

  • In preparation for submission of loan packages to SBA must verify purpose, compliance regulations, collateral requirements, etc. and adherence to approval requirements.
  • Must review approved credit packages to determine appropriate research necessary to ensure proper collateral position, review UCC searches, SBA documents, and agreements, etc. as required to close the SBA loan.
  • Works with SBA Department staff, lenders, outside attorneys and vendors and other internal departments to close and manage SBA relationships with the highest degree of SBA loan program compliance.
  • Timely processing includes performing UCC searches, ordering a variety of reports, such as flood certificates, etc., maintaining professional and positive customer relationships at all times, ordering preliminary title reports, researching insurance information, producing loan documents, responding to questions from clients and borrowers and following up as necessary.
  • Adhere to all SBA SOP's and related regulations
  • Create all new SBA loan files in accordance with SBA and bank filing standards, ensures files are properly imaged
  • During loan origination and closing process assist with customer, vendor and internal partner inquiries. Assists clients with problem resolution via research (billing, payment apps, statements, etc.).
  • Confirm all compliance requirements (CIP, BSA, PATRIOT Act, OFAC, CAIVRS, Sam.gov and Secretary of State status reflects Active/Compliance) are completed before closing as appropriate.
  • Coordinate with closing attorneys to provide required documentation as requested for loan document preparation.
  • Disburse loan proceeds per closing documents (wire, G/L tickets).
  • Post-closing review of loan packages for accuracy and transmittal to loan operations for booking.
  • Work to clear exceptions (collateral and insurance) with customer and closing attorney. Work with servicing team to setup tickler system to follow up until exception has been cleared.
  • Ensure that imaging system is kept current by forwarding all new information for scanning.
  • Assist 1502 reporting.

Education and/or Experience                                                  

Associate degree (A.A) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; and/or 1 to 2 years of related experience and/or training.

 

Language Skills                                                  

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

 

Mathematical Skills                                            

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

 

Reasoning Ability                                               

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

 

Computer Skills                                                  

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have strong PC skills with Outlook, Microsoft Excel and Word.
