Job Summary
The Child Development Program Assistant will assist both the Lunch Program Coordinator and Child Programming Coordinator by supervising and maintaining the kitchen before, during, and after lunch service as well as working directly with the after-school care and summer camp programs.
The Program Assistant will engage in some program / activity planning, family communication, and relationship building with students, families, and other departments on campus.
This is a 12-month, year-round position.

Thomas Metcalf School houses learners from preschool through 8th grade.
Salary Rate / Pay Rate
$17.00 - $19.00 per hour, combined with an excellent benefit package
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- Previous work, volunteer, or internship experience that required regular interaction with children.
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Obtain ISU Vehicle Driver Certificate within first 6 months of employment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with grant research and writing
- Experience with planning and implementing crafts and activities
Work Hours
9 : 15am-5 : 15pm Monday through Friday
Functional Expectations
Must be able to complete the following with or without a reasonable accommodation :
- Move about in various locations throughout Metcalf, as well as on and off campus as needed to complete day-to-day work
- Lift up to 50 pounds
- Effectively communicate on a daily basis
