JOB FUNCTION: Job functions include but are not limited to the following.
- Create, implement, and monitor local KPI’s for department.
- Use six sigma and lean processes to implement process improvement projects to optimize equipment and reduce downtime.
- Liaison with other department managers to optimize mill production and alignment of maintenance management system with all improvement initiatives.
- Sponsor employee ownership with supervisors and operators to assure continuity in reaching common production goals.
- Foster employee engagement initiatives.
- Encourage a behavior-based safety process.
- Review environmental compliance measures.
- Preserve asset management systems for equipment performance and reliability improvement.
- Ensure the training program for operators and supervisor is current and appropriate training goals are on target.
- Promote ISO standards throughout department.
- Administer and implement Labor relations (CBA) through consultation with the Human Resource and Mill Managers.
- Provide leadership with the implementation of problem-solving strategies and execution of key performance objectives in the production for the Kraft and Caustic.
MUST HAVE EXTENSIVE PULP MILL EXPERIENCE.
BACKGROUND / EXPERIENCE:
- Five (5) years of supervisory experience in the pulp and paper industry.
- Bachelor of Science, Engineering; mechanical, electrical and chemical preferred.
