The team at FOX23/KOKI in Tulsa wants someone who wants to produce newscasts that make a difference to viewers and someone who is dedicated to journalism. We just promoted a producer to EP, and in the last few months two other producers went onto top ten markets (BTW this was their first producing jobs out of college). I can’t promise that will happen to you, but I can promise that we will help teach you as much as we can about producing newscasts.?We have a team that constantly works to improve.?We have monthly workshops where we are guaranteed to learn something new. Our team is dedicated to putting on – as our slogan says – “news that matters.” Also, Tulsa is a great place to live and work, and it’s a lot less expensive than many other parts of the country. RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Produces newscasts for broadcast across all platforms
- Writes and orders news stories
- Balances news and feature content to create compelling broadcasts
- Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience
- Fluency in English
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Proficiency with computers
- Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Ability to define problems, collect data, and establish facts.
- Must be thoroughly professional in all aspects of journalism.
- Must be well-read in current affairs and have a wide range of working knowledge and understanding of general interest subjects.
- Flexibility to work any shift
