Description
Imagine Music and Arts is looking for a piano instructor who is motivated, hard-working, innovative, and a self-starter. We have a Suzuki-based piano program, which makes up about 75% of our student population. We are especially interested in candidates who have experience and/or willingness to work with young children (ages 4-6).
Schedule: You create your own schedule, however most lessons take place on weekday afternoons/evenings or weekends.
Status: Part-time/Contract Employee with the opportunity to grow your studio to full-time status. Full-time (20 weekly teaching hours) W2 employee includes health benefits. Suzuki teacher training stipends available.
Duties
The instructor will maintain a private studio (in-person and possible virtual lessons), as well as teach weekly group classes. They will utilize the Suzuki Method and Philosophy, supplementing with other materials as they see fit. The teacher will be expected to attend team meetings as scheduled and to be present at recitals and school events. We are looking for someone who can provide an active role in growing our program as well as consistency to students by making a long-term commitment to teaching at our school.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Music or Music Education/Pedagogy. Master’s degree preferred. Teaching experience is expected. Prior Suzuki teacher training is not required, but must have a willingness to receive training while holding the position. Preference is given to applicants who can make a long-term commitment to our school.
Salary
Competitive hourly wage determined by education and experience.
