Position Title: Regional Director
FLSA Classification: Exempt
Reports to: Executive Vice President
Position Description: Manage the regional operations of Imagine Schools, including supervision of the daily activities of schools within the region
Essential Functions:
- Demonstrate knowledge and expertise of the Imagine Schools educational vision and goals in order to provide effective implementation and oversight.
- Model shared values and lead the region and campuses in the Imagine Schools’ Six Measures of Excellence.
- Review School Excellence Plans in collaboration with school leadership teams and with the National Academic Team.
- Visit classrooms, in collaboration with school leadership, to ensure that effective instructional practices are taking place.
- Analyze data from standardized tests, benchmark testing and state test to assist in setting school and region goals and to support quality instruction.
- Support Region School Leaders and Personnel assigned to the Region in areas which may include, but are not limited to:
- Marketing
- Transportation
- Facilities
- State reporting
- Special Education
- Work with the Executive Vice Presidents to ensure employee and organizational goals are met and support and grow programs and services.
- Search and develop community partnerships that will support our schools and teachers and students.
- Identify locations that may support future growth of Imagine schools.
- Work with local and state agencies to develop plans for new and current school development.
- Cultivate relationships with universities that will further expand our teacher pipelines.
- Explore financial opportunities to help support both increase in revenues for schools and develop creative solutions for financial challenges.
- Participate in strategic planning including analyzing data across the Region in order to create short term and long-term action plans.
- Supervise personnel assigned to the Region and manage organizational issues within company operations.
- Assist school Leaders and Finance Directors in the development of annual budgets and in tracking expenditures.
- Prepare monthly reports by collecting, verifying and summarizing school data.
- Hire and supervise school leaders/principals and serve as mentor and coach to support their development.
- Collaborate and clearly communicate with parents/guardians, community, vendors, regional teams, staffs, and school leaders in a multi-cultural environment.
- Create training and staff development to support the needs of each campus.
- Play an important role in collaborating with school governing board members. Attend and participate in board meetings.
- Direct employees and delegate work based on each individual’s skills and qualifications.
- Conduct Annual Principal and Regional Staff performance reviews.
- Serve as a team player – supporting the collaborative efforts of the Regional Team.
- Travel to support out of state schools. Up to 50% of required time could be spent on travel.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Education: Masters in Educational Administration or Educational Leadership and current Principal/Leadership Certification.
- Experience: 3-5 years of successful administrative experience.
- Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Strong analytical, leadership, project management and organizational skills. Ability to work with individuals with varying degrees of expertise in varied departments/organizations. Knowledge of current instructional practices; knowledge of assessment and discipline methodology. Represent Imagine Schools to the public and to key stakeholders.
