Patient Service Representative

We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Medical Front Office Specialist to join our team and help us maintain our commitment to exceptional healthcare services.

Job Description- We are looking for a professional and friendly Patient Service Representative to be our patients' first point of contact. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling a variety of administrative tasks, ensuring a smooth and efficient front office operation.

Hours: Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm

Key Responsibilities:

Patient Reception and Greeting:

• Welcome patients and visitors with a warm and friendly demeanor.
• Register new patients, collect necessary information, and update existing patient records as required.
• Verify insurance and contact insurance providers to obtain necessary authorizations and pre-approvals.
• Maintain a neat and organized front office area.

Scheduling and Appointments:

• Manage the appointment booking process for patients, ensuring optimal scheduling at an efficient time.
• Handle appointment cancellations and rescheduling as needed.

Billing and Payment Processing:

• Collect co-payments, deductibles, and outstanding balances from patients.
• Accurately document payments received and provide receipts.
• Assist patients with any billing inquiries and direct them to the appropriate department.

Medical Records Management:

• Maintain and organize patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Facilitate the release of medical records as requested by patients, providers, or authorized individuals.
• Manage and file paperwork related to patient charts, referrals, and laboratory results.

Phone and Email Communication:

• Answer phone calls and address inquiries in a professional and courteous manner.
• Respond to emails and faxes promptly, directing them to the appropriate staff.
• Relay messages and ensure timely communication between patients and providers.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework or a relevant certification is preferred.
• Proven experience as a medical front office specialist or in a similar role.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and HIPAA compliance.
• Proficiency in using medical office software and electronic health records (EHR) systems.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
