Norgren is part of global engineering organization IMI plc, positioned within the Precision Engineering Division.

Role Overview
The Human Resources Director works to achieve the human resources strategy in support of the successful execution of IMI Norgren’s strategic plans. The primary focus of this position will be in the areas of organizational development, recruiting, internal communications, responsible business, training, workforce planning, and total rewards.

The Human Resources Director demonstrates confidence and composure in dealing with all levels of an organization and is comfortable working in a fast-paced, goal-oriented project environment with minimal supervision. This role requires a hands-on professional capable of generating results minimum direct reports. This position reports directly to the Managing Director, Life Sciences.

Work Location
: Hybrid work schedule – candidates within commuting distance of our facility in Palézieux, Switzerland OR Palmer, MA will be considered first

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the daily workflow of the department and the HR Teams at our manufacturing sites in Europe & the US
  • Responsible for supporting and mentoring our employee base in Europe, US, APAC
  • Assist in the identification and analysis of individual training needs across the Business Unit.
  • Recommend and create strategic training priorities that support the Norgren strategic plan. In addition, complete and present pertinent analysis for strategic planning and forecasting purposes.
  • Manage succession planning, performance management, and long-term development activities of the Business Unit
  • Ensure completion of the company’s Performance Management process.
  • Develop plans and present on workforce planning initiatives.
  • Facilitate adoption and completion at all levels for the company’s succession planning process.
  • Recruit for key positions within the Business Unit and partner with the Corporate Recruiter, as needed.
  • Assist with the company’s salary planning process.
  • Support and assist with the company’s bonus administration process.
  • Partner with the leadership team to drive reward structure to improve employee satisfaction.
  • Assure clarity of interpretation and compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Confer with legal counsel on issues involving legal interpretation.
  • Ensure compliance with all OSHA, FMLA, EEO, ADA, and other state and federal governmental statutes.
  • Partner with the VP of the Business Unit and VP of HR to ensure that the strategic goals and vision are met. Collaborate/Partner with the Corporate HR team, as needed.
  • Assist with the company’s ethics and compliance program (IMI Way) is followed
  • Ensure that all HR reports and metrics are delivered accurately and timely
  • Facilitate, investigate, and advise supervisors on employee relations issues
  • Evaluate current HR practices and make recommendations for best-in-class solutions
  • Lead and Support the HR Team within the BU to ensure HR policies and guidelines are followed
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Critical Competencies for Success
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field
  • 10 years of HR work experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Multi-site experience, with ability to support across various time zones
  • Intermediate MS Office Skills
  • Working knowledge of HRIS systems
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced, high-pressure environments
  • Able to get results through one’s ability to influence others
  • Able to operate in a matrixed organization
  • Travel, as needed (roughly 10-15% of time)
