Position Summary
The Water-Spider is responsible for picking, delivering, and accurately transacting material to designated locations on a routine hourly basis. This individual must also be able to decide the priority of orders to pull when components are limited. In addition, responsibility includes preparing and transferring components to Receiving for outside processing, conducting daily cycle counts, investigating variances and negative inventory balances, submitting corrections, and making adjustments when authorized.
Key duties & Responsibilities
- Follow system instructions to pick and defined route to deliver purchased and manufactured components as well as retrieve manufactured components and finished goods for transfer to various internal destinations in a timely manner.
- Make accurate transactions in system to ensure that company inventory records stay accurate. For example, use bar codes and scanners to pick items from storage areas and issue them to assembly Work Orders. Print corresponding ID labels and deliver items to point of use.
- Complete operations when needed to close Work Orders and post goods to stock or simply move item to next machine and make a transfer in system if further operations are called for on the routing.
- Determine the priority of orders to be pulled when components are limited in order to keep production flowing smoothly.
- Ensure that acceptable productivity standards are maintained.
- Effectively communicate with personnel in other departments to ensure accurate and timely deliveries.
- Prepare, verify counts, and transfer components from machining to Receiving for outside processing.
- Generate and manage daily cycle counts based on system.
- Investigate variances and do advanced root cause analysis.
- Research negative inventory balances, submit BOM corrections, and make adjustments when authorized.

Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2 years in manufacturing
Skills and Competencies
- Must have basic reading comprehension and writing skills, be able to work from verbal and written instructions, be capable of working with computer terminals and be able to complete routine paperwork.
- Must be quality and detail oriented.
- Must have good attendance and work record.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle last minute requests.
Computers and Technology
- Basic knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook)
- Handle multiple transactions including researching system discrepancies.
