Position Summary
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to work with large products and perform each essential duty satisfactorily. This position works with large VTL, HBM and CNC machines, manufacturing valves to be used in critical conditions for the petro/chemical industries. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. The CNC Machinist is responsible for the machining of new and repair part products on a 14’ Toshiba VTL to print specifications according to IMI Z&J standards, policies and procedures.

Responsibilities
• Ability to read, write and speak English fluently
• Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and computers
• Perform general machine shop math and calculations
• Read measuring devices such as scales and calipers
• Demonstrate skills needed to machine fabricated parts in large sizes
• Knowledgeable in Stellite and Weld engineering
• Ability to read, comprehend and understand machine drawings
• Able to maintain print tolerances down to .001”
• Safely and competently operate overhead crane
• Communicate with supervisors and fellow operators
• Clean and organize work area
• Other duties as assigned
• Follow and comply with all Safety Rules and Procedures
• Report any near-misses, incidents and possible hazards
• Maintain and use all issued personal protective equipment
Qualifications and Required Skills:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Basic reading, writing, and some advanced math skills required
- Experience working with or using one or more of the following tools: Toshiba VTL, Stellite, Weld mounting, lathe, milling machine, drill press, vertical and horizontal boring mills and surface grinders for large part items
Physical Demands:
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, climb, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
• The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 15 pounds and occasionally lift and /or move up to 50 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, far vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus; with or without corrective lens.
