The Payroll Supervisor works closely with the accounting and human resources benefits teams as well as department managers and supervisors. The Payroll Supervisor is responsible for processing payroll timely and accurately, providing resolution on payroll questions to employees, researching outstanding payroll tax issues, and working with third party payroll processor to resolve issues and designed and implemented payroll software. Payroll Supervisor (Payroll Management / Payroll processing)
Responsibilities
As a Payroll Supervisor you are responsible for processing payroll timely and accurately, providing resolution on payroll questions to employees, researching outstanding payroll tax issues, and working with third party payroll processor to resolve issues on designated and implemented payroll software.
Additional responsibilities for this management position include:
- Own the bi-weekly payroll cycle for exempt and non-exempt employees by processing all compensation, including salaries, bonuses, commissions, and equity and compile reports in summary and detailed.
- Protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential and maintaining employee confidence.
- Verify from HR new hires, terminations, status changes, FMLA, tax changes, deductions, manage direct deposits, rate changes, retroactive adjustments and special pays.
- Update payroll records by reviewing and approving changes in exemptions, all deductions, including flexible spending plans, retirement plans, benefits contributions and garnishments.
- Work closely with Human Resources to ensure that all employee address, supervisor, department, position, job titles, department transfers and pay rate changes are made on an accurate and timely basis.
- Participate in month- and quarter-end close activities, by providing back up to General Ledger accountants.
- Ensure accurate process of vacation annual pay outs.
- Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by monitoring ADP news letters.
- Work with IT and Human Resources departments to ensure integrity of data and system setup.
- Participate in accounting system implementations; QA new payroll-related reports, and participate in payroll-related system upgrades
- Ensure Sarbanes Oxley compliance by adhering to internal control requirements, maintaining updated documentation for all payroll related processes and providing recommendations as appropriate
- Support information requests for Workers Compensation insurance and 401K audits
- Ensure payroll backup(s) are routinely processing a payroll to maintain the ability to process payroll as needed
- Provide prompt, friendly, and efficient customer service to employees who have questions regarding their pay, deductions, or the payroll process.

Qualifications
Requirement for this role include:
- Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) from four-year college or university; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- ADP Active User Experience is Required
- A minimum of 5 years related payroll experience
- Proficiency in Excel is required
- Experience on dealing with tax authorities for payroll setups is a plus
