Cost Accountant - 24901

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Cost Accountant to join their team. This role is pivotal in applying cost accounting principles to deliver comprehensive cost insights, not captured by general accounting systems. The successful candidate will be the primary person responsible for bill of material, costing, and inventory transaction reporting. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Conduct studies to determine costs of business activities, such as process, labor, and material management.
• Analyze changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods, or services to determine effects on cost.
• Prepare reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs and provide management with insights on pricing and profitability factors.
• Report on variances related to labor, material, and variable overhead.
• Maintain and review the cost accounting system and prepare month-end financial reports.
• Assist in physical inventory valuations and audits, and serve as a backup for purchase requisition approvals.
• Support annual audit preparations and update and maintain part numbers, routings, and bill of materials (BOMs).
• Perform other duties as assigned to support the finance department.

• Proficient in writing reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent.
• At least two years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Skills:

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
• Preferred IT system programming skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
