This role requires a range of duties, including but not limited to,
- Data Analytics of Process Data
- Predictive Quality Control
- Artificial Intelligence applied to Plastic Manufacturing Processes
- Machine learning of plastic processing
- Plan, conceptualize, and create mechanical designs for new production equipment and processes.
- Project Management
- Design, fabrication, installation, and support startup
- Work with vendors, contractors, and internal team members
- Lead Automation transformation at Impact Guard
- Custom automation
- Robotics, CNC, etc
- Automated QC Systems
- Safety Improvements
- Create and review technical drawings, plans, and specifications using computer software
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
- Perform detailed documentation to track project development and design process.
- Ensure project timeline is met and project stays within budget
- Perform PLC and HMI programming, commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting on machines,
- Integrate various instrumentation such as pressure sensors, load cells, flow meters, etc.
- Work safely in proximity to a variety of voltages such as 24VDC, 120VAC, 480VAC, single phase and 3-phase.
- Interpret electrical drawings and documentation for custom machines, systems, and products.
- Configure controls components such as VFDs, servo drives, machine vision systems, robot controllers, field IO racks, etc.
- Properly use manuals for proper installation, programming, and troubleshooting of components
- Create OEM manuals, documentation, SOPs etc.
- Conduct operator training and technical instruction for users.
- Collaborate with team members as needed to identify and solve issues.
- Provide troubleshooting to follow a problem to the source and solve the issue.
- Ensure installed products meet quality and scope expectations.
- Follow quality control standards and check lists.
- Learn to recognize and communicate design changes to team members.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, best practices, and updated technology.
- Research Using market research and industry trends to develop new product ideas
- Design Using software to create the design for the new product
- Prototyping Building and testing prototypes to ensure safety, durability, and effectiveness
- Manufacturing Developing the manufacturing process for the new product
- Testing Performing rigorous testing and validation to ensure products meet quality and safety
- Documentation Documenting the product development process, including specifications,
- Communication Communicating product features to the design team and informing
