What are the responsibilities and job description for the DevOps Engineer position at Impact Networking?
Impact is looking to add a DevOps Engineer to our growing Managed IT Operations team. The role will be responsible for developing, supporting and maintaining automation routines for the toolsets and systems utilized by the clients (Impact Stack) and the technologies used by the engineers to support our clients (Impact Toolset). The ideal candidate is extremely versatile in a variety of technologies, is always eager to adopt and learn about new technologies and focuses on efficiency improvements for all of Impact's solutions offerings. Documentation is 30% of the job, and candidate must have excellent writing and documenting skills. Providing guidance and supporting other engineers with a positive attitude is a must. Learning new technologies is a major driver of success within this position.ResponsibilitiesTechnicalAutomate technical workloads where possible, usually related to deployment of new services, tenant setups and/or baseline configurations, across all Impact approved/authorized solutions that represent its 'stack'Orchestrate the interaction of all Impact solutions' technical processes to deliver service packages for newly signed customersStudy and continual self-education of relevant Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) to support the goal of automating solutions-related technical workloadsDevelop tools on-demand (scripts, automation policies, runbooks, etc) to promote an automated work cultureManages, maintains and supports baseline security and operational hygiene of all automation solutions developed and utilized in productionManages, maintains and supports all documentation for all automation solutions developed and utilized in productionWork with and support internal and external customers where necessarySupports MIT employees by answering questions, tracking issues, monitoring changes and resolving or escalating problems per company guidelines.
