Job Summary: Parent Child Development Services (PCDS) provides services for families with children age birth through 5 to promote positive parenting, healthy child development, school readiness, and healthy family functioning. As a Parent As Teachers (PAT) program, model components include home visits, case management services, child health and development screenings, and group connections. Parent-child interaction groups and preschool groups provided by program staff, supervisor, and parent volunteers promote positive parent-child relationship and kindergarten readiness opportunities. This position is responsible for the coordination, implementation and daily oversight of PCDS program services, activities, staff, and volunteers. Primary responsibilities include staff and volunteer support and supervision, contract compliance and program development. Our team consists of a diverse group of Parent Child Specialists from the communities we serve and works closely with parent leaders and volunteers to meet our community's needs.

 

Job Title: PCDS Program Supervisor

Salary: $20/hr
Classification: 80% FTE - 32 hours a week

 

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Provides both reflective and administrative supervision to support staff engagement and retention as well as contract compliance and delivery of quality services.
  • Provides training and ongoing support to staff to deliver strength-based, trauma-informed, culturally responsive client services.
  • Assists the Program Director in the selection, training, supervision and evaluation of program staff in compliance with Impact NW and PCDS personnel policies and procedures.
  • Effectively and respectfully participates in two-way communication regarding agency and program policy, mission, values and decisions with program staff, clients, collaborating organizations and the community.
  • Encourages and supports staff, client and volunteer participation in program planning and implementation.
  • Serves as a liaison to collaborating organizations such as Early Learning Multnomah (ELM), County PCDS Coordinators, and other family service providers and community organizations.
  • Provides co-facilitation of Parent Child Interaction groups and direct client service as appropriate and needed.
  • Assists Program Director with management and leadership responsibilities including program development, evaluation, team building, meeting facilitation, community advocacy and compliance with agency policies and procedures.
  • Participates in grant writing, grant tracking, grant reporting, and budgeting processes as necessary.
  • Provides leadership and facilitation in a variety of meeting settings that supports open and honest communication and fosters an environment of equity and inclusion.
  • Effectively works with individuals of diverse backgrounds.
  • Effectively communicates agency policy, mission, values and decisions to program staff, collaborating organizations and the community.
  • Participates in the Early Childhood Department and INW Supervisory teams.
  • Complete accurate, legible, and timely documentation of services delivered in accordance with the agency’s management information system.
  • Meet program service standards and deadlines set forth by the Early Childhood Department, INW, and funders regarding quantity, type, and quality of services to be delivered to clients and volunteers.

Qualifications


Requirements and Qualifications:

Any combination of experience and training that would likely meet the following requirements

  • Bilingual Spanish/English Required.
  • Experience working with the Latinx community, preferred. 
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in early childhood education, social work or related field.
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in human services setting; preference given to those with experience working with low-income, culturally diverse families with children prenatal to five years.
  • Minimum one year supervisory and program oversight experience.
  • Excellent coordination and organizational skills and ability to prioritize and complete multiple and varied tasks.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to engage and collaborate with a broad spectrum of community members.
  • Sensitivity and ability to relate to people from diverse lifestyles, socioeconomic levels, and cultures.
  • Work effectively within a strength-based, team environment.
  • Demonstrate flexibility, dependability, and integrity.
  • Computer skills including familiarity with contemporary software.
  • Willingness to work as a team member and support the mission and goals of Impact NW.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
  • Graduate level education and training in social work or related field, preferred.
  • Parent As Teachers (PAT) certification or knowledge, preferred.

Required Physical Activities:

  • Repetitive motion, prolonged sitting, and extensive visual involvement
  • Ability to efficiently travel in order to perform duties and other agency related errands
  • Moderate lifting
