Our client, an established organization offering health and wellness services, is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join their team. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Accounting Manager is responsible for supporting the company’s accounting functions, including accounting team member development, financial reporting, analysis, process development, and internal control compliance, objectives, and deadlines.
This position is based in Beaverton, OR; under hybrid work arrangement.
Responsibilities:
- Provides oversight, direction, and leadership to broad scope single or multi-functional teams performing accounting functions.
- Reports to the Chief Financial Officer on organization and departmental financial results and status.
- Provides oversight and support to the organization’s month, quarter and year-end process to ensure accurate financial statements and reporting.
- Manages annual budget process with the support of the Chief Financial Officer, from development to implementation, as well as tracking monthly financial performance in relation to budgets.
- Responsible for ensuring that all tax payments are processed in a timely manner to avoid any potential tax penalties or interest related to payroll taxes.
- Supports in timely filing of Corporate Tax Returns and works with CPA firm to determine tax liability for Federal, State, and Local taxes; makes sure that payroll tax forms are completed in an accurate manner by vendor, as well as in completing and filing 1099 tax forms and other annual filings
- Ensures accounting programs, procedures and supporting information systems support the financial objectives of the organization.
- Works closely with the Chief Financial Officer and the auditors in preparation for annual CPA and other audits as requested such as accounting schedules, reconciliations, and PBC request
- Identify operational efficiencies, seeks improvements to financial accounting processes by evaluating and refining processes and procedures, update documentation retained in the procedures manuals regarding areas of responsibility.
- Lead and participate in key system workgroups and programs related to financial accounting functions and procedures.
- Recommend and implement multi-year strategic goals and objectives.
- Regularly interact with all levels to provide expertise to address and resolve highly complex accounting issues.
- Execute strategic and operational decisions, improving overall business activities.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of accounting experience.
- With CPA license, preferred.
- Demonstrates strength in technical accounting and knowledge of U.S. GAAP, internal controls and financial reporting
- Experience with ADP & Sage 100, highly preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with people at all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrates strong analytical, collaboration, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
