Control Room Operator (CRO) - Power Plant - Boiler

Well established power generation company is actively seeking an experienced Control Room Operator - Power Plant - Boiler for Billings, Montana. Requires a high school degree and a minimum of two (2) years of power plant experience including one (1) year at the technician level and one (1) year as a Control Room Operator (CRO).

This is not an entry level position. Most skills are learned through prior on-the-job training. High school graduate preferred who has technical training or related work experience. Vocation-technical training preferred but not essential.  Must pass Basic and Operator skills test.

Qualifications:

  • Requires a minimum of two (2) years of power plant experience and a high school diploma.
  • Must have previous Control Board Operator experience. Must have a good understanding of solid fuel power plants and how they work.
  • Must have previous experience as a solid fuel or gas fired power plant operator with Control Board experience.   

Compensation:

  • Annual compensation is anticipated to be in the $88,000 - $100,000 range including hourly rate ($42/hour -$48/hour) plus overtime pay.
  • Client provides full benefits including 401k, health, dental, 9 paid holidays and 2 weeks vacation.
Experienced senior level power industry candidates who want to live in Montana and mentor less experienced team members are encouraged to apply, potentially at the top of the range as stated above.
