Principal Database Engineer

Riverlink is seeking a Principal Database Engineer, a subject matter expert (SME) in database administration, and someone who through thought leadership provides solid insights. As a key member, you will play a pivotal role in optimizing database performance, maintaining high standards of technical excellence, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Technology, Computer Science, or related discipline.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in database development with expertise in Microsoft SQL.
• Expertise in ETL, high-volume data exchange, and modernizing SQL environments.
• Lead database tuning, automation, and regular maintenance.
• Experience with developing and debugging code for performance issues while ensuring database security, integrity, and compliance.
• Executes database tuning, optimization, and the automation of routine tasks such as backup and recovery. Develop standardized processes and procedures to uphold stability, security, and high performance.
• Outstanding communication and collaboration abilities, closely collaborating with department leadership, engineers, and architects to formulate new specifications for products and initiatives.
• Experience with application development is a plus.
• Experience with leading and coaching teams, leading by example.
• Automotive industry experience is not required but is a big plus.
