Reporting to the Director of Shared Accounting Services, you will be responsible for oversight of all key internal reporting processes for multiple entities, while ensuring a high degree of accuracy. You will manage and mentor a team of 10 with both direct and indirect staff responsible for several key accounting functions including: Revenue, POC, AP, AR Reporting, Leases and GL record maintenance.
Responsibilities:
Lead the Internal Accounting team, including several Supervisors, through timely and accurate weekly/monthly/quarterly close process for multiple entities.
Manage full cycle accounting, provide guidance, and ensure process documentation is developed and maintained related to Revenue, Accounts Payable, Expense Reporting, Leases, Fixed Assets, General Ledger and Accounts Receivable
Responsible for review, training and formal documentation of quarterly percentage of completion (POC) schedules; including working with Operations to address questions and obtaining audit support.
Manage Unbilled Revenue reconciliation process for accurate financial reporting.
Oversee Inventory/Fixed Asset accounting for multiple entities, including procedures, controls, reporting, annual inventory and ad-hoc management requests.
Reviewing of journal entries, accruals, amortizations, and account reconciliations
Implement and maintain accounting and control procedures for SOX compliance purposes.
Serve as a Control Owner within the quarterly SOX 302 sub-certification process, reviewing applicable control language and updating as necessary.
Liaison and/or serve as a key contact to internal and external auditors to ensure all requests relevant to internal reporting are satisfied.
Leverage technology and be able to work with technical resources to continually improve and automate processes, maintain compliance, provide accurate and timely data/reporting, and maximize financial success.
Provide contributions towards design and development of a large-scale work management solution and further enhance S/4 HANA processes.
Perform other tasks as requested by leadership
Background required:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
CPA or CMA required.
10 years progressive work experience in accounting for a multi-location publicly traded or large private organization
5 years’ experience managing a team greater than 3 with proven track record of developing staff and direct supervision of the month-end close/GL process
Strong knowledge of GAAP accounting
Prior experience with SAP and construction industry or job-cost accounting highly preferred
