Sr Civil/Bridge Engineer

The ideal candidate will be a licensed professional engineer with minimum 10 years of diversified experience in design, project management and proposal writing for public sector clients.

• Must be a licensed professional engineer in Connecticut
• Minimum 10 years of progressively responsible experience as project manager for design projects
• Must have extensive experience with design of bridges, both rehabilitation and replacement
• Experience with CTDOT local bridge program experience. State and Federal Local Bridge Program projects.
• Experience with County projects in CT are highly desirable
• Experience with railroad bridges is highly desirable
• Experience with design of building renovation is highly desirable
• Experience with design-build projects is highly desirable
• Demonstrated experience in writing technical proposals with photos and graphic illustrations and innovative technical approach
• Effective oral and written communication and superb presentation skills
• Demonstrated skills in independent thinking, innovative ideas, and problem solving
• Proven track record of decision making, customer service, and negotiation and conflict resolution
• Demonstrated experience in leading structural design projects in various sizes and complexity
• Demonstrated experience with staging of complex projects at active transportation facilities
• Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple concurrent projects
• Proficiency in the use of structural analysis programs and standard Microsoft Office software
• Ability to manage inter-departmental projects with various disciplines
• Must have motivational and people skills for supervision of engineers and CAD personnel
• Demonstrated experience with cost-benefit analysis, life-cycle-cost-analysis and risk assessment
• Demonstrated ability and experience of managing and tracking budget for both cost-plus and lump-sum projects
• Clear understanding of invoicing requirements for various types of public sector projects
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
