In this role, you will be responsible for leading and representing all quality related activities and regulatory activities for our Pleasant Plain, Ohio facility. These activities include compliance with all Federal, State and Local regulations regarding the manufacturing and distribution of products at the site.
Responsibilities…
- Direct the day to day activities of the Quality Department Staff
- Manage product testing processes, including the microbiology testing laboratory
- Implement methods to inspect, test and evaluate products and production equipment
- Implement and maintain inbound quality inspection process
- Participate in product testing and sample products, ensuring they meet set standards and specifications
- Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing data
- Track products through the manufacturing process to guarantee that each part of the process is correct
- Perform detailed and record inspections of final products so the products are up to industry and company standards
- Direct internal investigations regarding regulatory compliance issues and nonconforming materials or products
- Approve Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and validation protocols
- Manage the document control system
- Monitor adherence to SOPs, Current Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP)
- Monitor and recommend improvements in the cleaning/sanitization process in micro sensitive areas
- Implement and maintain programs to eliminate micro issues
- Proactively work with production to prevent micro contaminations
- Perform other duties or projects as assigned
BA/BS degree in chemistry, biology or pharmacy
- A minimum of 5 years’ supervisory experience in quality management in a manufacturing operation; experience in a Consumer-Packaged Goods (CPG) company is preferred
- Prior experience operating and managing a micro testing laboratory, as well as in process and final product inspection
- Prior work experience with GMP’s, GLP’s and HACCP
- Previous experience working with regulatory agencies (i.e., FDA, EPA, USDA)
