Project Accountant
Impact XM develops solutions for virtual and live events. We are looking for a Project Accountant to join our team. The Project Accountant assists in monitoring and optimizing the financial performance of client projects from initial budgeting, through cost incurrence, revenue recognition and final reconciliation. Project reconciliation entails quality control checks of data prior to invoicing, contract review, adherence to company and project invoicing guidelines, data error and resolution.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure that cost and revenue project estimates are uploaded into the project system within two weeks of a job being updated to a ‘win’ status.
- Assist the account teams in performing financial and project related reconciliation activities in a timely manner ensuring accuracy, thoroughness and completion.
- Follow up as needed on projects which are past due in terms of being invoiced. Work with both the billing leads and account teams to ensure the invoicing process is being expedited.
- Prepare a monthly project review as part of the financial close and propose monthly cost and revenue accruals
- Review all accounting procedures and recommend improvements in the project reconciliation process as needed.
- Assist the account teams with financial best practices and record keeping with a focus on optimizing company working capital
- Document an overall understanding of sales tax by jurisdiction to assist the account teams in making tax determinations to incorporate into their proposals.
- Maintain accurate documentation for financial operations and transactions. This entails assisting with the client and vendor contract initial review together with maintaining a library of all financial agreements including SOW’s and MSA’s, storage agreements etc.
- Review Purchase Orders for accuracy and timeliness.
- Maintain accurate financial data and reports for submission to senior management.
- Assist in managing credit activities as needed for new and existing clients.
- Ensure financial information is maintained and updated within Impact XM systems
- Monitor the consistent delivery of gross margin by project. Investigate material discrepancies.
- Ensure all costs/ items are accounted for within Impact XM systems and invoices.
- Contribute & develop regular business review reports with Account Directors & Sales Leadership.
- Address issues and inquiries in a timely manner
- Assist in the annual audit as needed.
REQUIREMENTS & SKILLS:
- Bachelor's degree (B. A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university; and 2 years’ experience as a financial or project reconciliation role or similar experience successfully executing projects and programs and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must be passionate about working with people and be customer-centric.
- Experience in the event marketing or a similar multi-project environment.

- Exhibit the ability to multi-task, and operate under severe time constraints and immovable deadlines. Good organization, detail and follow-up skills are required.
