VOLUNTEER YOUTH CHEER COACH JOB DESCRIPTION

TITLE

Volunteer Cheer Coach for Impact Youth Inc.

DESCRIPTION

  • Coach youth cheerleaders in one of three divisions: Juniors (6-9), Peewee (10-11), or Bantam (12-14).
  • You will be considered a role model for young cheerleaders assigned to your squad; therefore, you must illustrate sportsmanship, fairness, and decency in word and deed.

CHEER COACH RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan and supervise games and practices with your co-coach(es).
  • Inform players/parents about games, practices, events, cancellations, and make-ups.
  • Learn the cheers before the season begins to teach them to the cheerleaders.
  • Promote the values of responsibility and commitment and emphasize the importance of academics first and foremost.
  • Encourage the involvement of the parents as volunteers for ride-sharing, fundraising, etc.
  • Provide a safe and fun environment for the children.
  • Learn and follow ALL Impact Youth and league rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Assume responsibility for equipment and uniforms that have been provided by Impact Youth.
  • Inform the cheerleading coordinator of any problems.
  • Work with Head Coach to develop a policy for awards and submit a list of award winners at the end of the season.
  • Obtain advance approval from the Head coach for all activities, practices, and performances.
  • Work with the Head coach to assess skills and assign team positions.
  • Attend clinics and other professional activities to improve coaching performance.
  • Perform any other related duties as assigned by the Head Cheer Coach, Athletic Director, or other appropriate administrators.
  • Must possess proper certification

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Pass a background check.
  • Know and adhere to Impact Youth Policies and Procedures.
  • Work 6 to 8 hours per week for cheer practice.
  • Have patience with others, especially with children.
  • Be organized and dependable.

Job Types: Part-time, Internship

Pay: From $1.00 per year

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Cleveland, OH 44111: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)

Education:

  • High school or equivalent (Preferred)
