The Community Development Team is looking for an eager candidate who wants to learn more about environmental consulting and gain experience across the wide range of services we offer at Impact7G. In this role, you will be responsible for writing Phase 1 ESAs (Environmental Site Assessments). If you do not already have it, obtaining licensure for ACM (Asbestos Containing Materials), LBP (Lead-Based Paint), and Radon Inspections will be required. Additionally, this position will include the expectation of doing fieldwork in activities such as collecting soil, groundwater, soil vapor, and mold samples. The ideal candidate will have good attention to detail and the ability to complete timely and accurate reports following associated fieldwork. Location: This position can be remote, hybrid, or fully on-site at any Impact7G office, but may vary based on specific departmental needs. Remote and Hybrid roles must work in a location within the United States.
Overview
The Environmental Specialist I is responsible for participating in a wide range of projects which may include National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) reviews and exclusions and Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
The essential job duties and responsibilities include:
- Conduct research, complete reviews, and compile reports.
- Site visits to include field sampling, data collection, field equipment operation, and other field activities associated with environmental projects.
- With support and guidance from Environmental Specialist II and Senior Environmental Specialists, works independently on projects ranging from small to medium and assists senior staff on larger projects.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science or similar field. In the absence of a degree, equivalent combination of education, training, or experience.
- Required education based on requirements that are job related and consistent with business necessity.
- Required experience based on requirements that are job related and consistent with business necessity.
- 0-2 years’ experience in the environmental field.
- Required license/credentials based on requirements that are job related and consistent with business necessity.
- Proficient with the Microsoft Office products, including Teams, SharePoint, Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Strong work ethic, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and time management skills.
- Be organized and detail oriented.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Specializations Required by Department
Community Development
- Must be capable of working while wearing a negative pressure respirator without restriction.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in consulting.
Physical/Environmental Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds, on occasion.
- Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions in outdoor environments.
