Job Title: R&D Intern, Vascular
Location: This position is based in our Campbell, California offices, on-site & full-time. Imperative Care does not provide relocation or additional housing compensation for the summer internship.

What You’ll Do
This position works alongside the engineering team and individually to assist in projects focused on new vascular product development as well as improvements for existing products within R&D.
- Participate in the design, and development and prototyping of new concepts and test procedures (methods and fixtures)
- Design, plan, and execute laboratory experiments to evaluate feasibility of concepts
- Review test data against established acceptance criteria and write appropriate test reports
- Interact with engineers to understand product requirements
- Document relevant information (i.e.., new ideas, test results, build procedure, etc.) in lab notebook according to good laboratory practices or company procedure
- Assist in bench lab work and on material efforts
What You’ll Bring
- Minimum of 2 years of college-level coursework in an engineering discipline & a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Familiar with R&D equipment used for prototyping common medical devices (hot boxes, adhesives, soldering, bonding, fuse joining)
- Able to use SolidWorks for drawing and designing tooling, fixtures, devices and related items
- Knowledge of materials (Polymers, Metals, Chemicals) as related to medical devices
- Familiarity with CAD, machining, and rapid prototyping tools a plus tensile, simulated use, or other test methods related to the project
- Strong organizational skills: management of multiple priorities and timing
- Good interpersonal skills, effective communication, and partnership with R&D and other departments
