SUMMARY:
The Procurement Manager oversees and manages the internal day-to-day procurement operations for all chemical and MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations) materials. Reporting directly to the Director of Procurement, the Procurement Manager leads a team of Procurement Specialists and Coordinators, ensuring efficient procurement processes, vendor management, and cost optimization strategies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Procurement Specialists and Coordinators to achieve departmental goals and objectives.

Develop and implement procurement strategies to optimize cost, quality, and delivery of chemical and MRO materials.

Establish and maintain relationships with key vendors and suppliers to ensure reliable sources of materials and favorable terms.

Review and analyze procurement data, including spend, supplier performance, and market trends, to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.

Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with vendors to secure favorable agreements and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

Monitor and manage inventory levels to optimize stock levels while minimizing carrying costs and obsolescence risks.

Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal controls related to procurement activities.

Provide regular reports and updates on procurement performance, initiatives, and key metrics to senior management.

Continuously evaluate and improve procurement processes, systems, and tools to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Resolve any procurement-related issues or disputes in a timely and effective manner.

Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in procurement and supply chain management.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, QUALIFICATION, AND EXPERIENCE

Batchelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field required; master’s degree preferred.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, with t least 2 years in a management or supervisory role.

Demonstrated knowledge of procurement principles, practices and procedures, particularly in the chemical and MRO industries.

Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability tomotivate an develop team members.

Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Prociciency in procurement software and ERP systems.

Familiarity with regulatory requirements and compliance standards in procurement.
