What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shipping Lead position at Imperial Distributors, Inc.?

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing all of the duties successfully, related to shipping that includes:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure all orders are processed daily (invoiced/palletized)
  • Ensure adequate supplies are maintained.
  • Ensure all job related instructions are properly documented, accessible and updated periodically
  • Operate all power equipment safely
  • Provide all tools necessary to perform the shipping functions.
  • Assist supervisor and/or coordinator with the team members giving detailed instructions as to how the shipping process is accomplished.
  • Ensure that all related paperwork is properly completed and submitted to main office.
  • Possibly open and shutdown shift as needed
  • Meets productivity and accuracy standard.
  • Other related duties as assigned


Qualifications

  • Computer skills.
  • 2 to 5 years experience in distribution
  • Equipment certified
  • Use of RF Guns and AS400 basics
  • Excellent communication and people skills with individuals and groups
  • Attention to detail and ability to see the big picture
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize
  • High energy, enthusiastic, and proactive self-starter

Experience

  • Previous experience helpful, one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Basic computer skills – requiring able to use a log in and password and follow simple instructions.

Language Skills

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills

  • Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
  • Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

  • Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts.
  • The employee is exposed to hot/cold weather/air depending upon the season. Employee is occasionally exposed to fumes. As the doors to the docks are opened and closed.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
