Description
Inventory Control Specialist
Location: Headquarters, Durham
Shift: Back Half: Wednesday - Saturday 7:30 am - 6:00pm
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory levels, makes ordering decisions for goods and ensures the optimal inventory is ready to use.
Primary Responsibilities:

Supports the outflow and inflow of inventory and storage activities in the company.

Assists in developing and initiating control policies and procedures and in planning activities that relate to inventory control within the organization.

Keeps track of large amounts of inventory using scanning devices or computerized inventory systems, and ensures all items are appropriately & safely stored.

Supports the maintenance of accurate inventory levels and ensures the optimal inventory is ready for use. Damaged product is to be identified & dispositioned promptly.

Works with members of the warehouse staff and sales support.

Support efforts for IC teams to identify, document, communicate via emails and make necessary location and inventory status changes to D365 for quality issues including damaged product and supplier mistakes

Determines and investigates misidentified or out-of-balance items and helps determine the causes for the discrepancies.

Investigates problems in the warehouse inventory system and executes necessary improvements towards better business performance, which centers on customer satisfaction.

Performs inventory verifications & cycle counts as needed and keeps the Inventory Control Lead and IC manager updated regarding inventory discrepancies.

Meet all deadlines as established by the Inventory Control Lead or the Inventory Control Manager.

Complies without exception with all company safety guidelines.

Perform general housekeeping duties according to the Lead or members of the Operations management team

Other duties as assigned by management.

Key Skills:
|

Previous experience as a warehouse operations worker
-
Ability to communicate effectively with different departments across multiple sites
-
Ability to apply logic and problem-solving methods
-
Ability to safely drive forklifts and order pickers
-
Working knowledge of MS Windows (specifically Outlook, Word, & Excel)
-
Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions

Desired Skills and Experience:
|

Forklift Certified
-
Working knowledge of MS Windows / warehouse management system
-
1 years’ experience in an inventory control related job
-
Experience with Microsoft Dynamics
-
Previous experience in a medium to large scale product warehouse shipping / receiving operation
|
Education and Certifications:
|
H.S. diploma / GED OR 1 month experience or training operating in a warehouse, distribution environment
|
