We are currently searching for a Staff Accountant to join our Finance Team. This role will be performed both on site and remotely as necessary but will be based in the Greater Minneapolis Twin Cities area and in our Minnetonka offices.
The Staff Accountant is responsible for the accurate and timely recording of financial information to the general ledger and supports the Director of Finance in achieving departmental goals and objectives. This role must meet tight deadlines around month, quarter and year end close, and support the year-end audit. The incumbent’s responsibilities may include accounting duties in General Accounting, Cost Accounting and within Supply Chain and Operations business unit. The position addresses a multitude of activities throughout financial and operational disciplines including supporting operations business unit, account reconciliation, cost accounting and invoicing.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Month end close including:
- Bank reconciliations
- Foreign entity accounting responsibility (including exchange rates & intercompany transactions)
- Reconciliation roll forward
- Adjusting journal entries
- Accruals
- Prepaids
- Fixed Assets
- Review expense JEs for correct accounts and projects
- Prepare and review sub-ledger to trial balance reconciliation
- Manage financials for Service business line
- Service contract invoicing
- Review Service cost of goods sold
- Variance to Plan analysis
- Monthly Reporting
- External Audit preparation and documentation
- Other daily reporting responsibilities supporting the business
- Support Supply Chain
- Review and monitor prepaid purchase orders
- Review RMA shipments/repair RMAs for reclass to balance sheet
- Inventory ownership
- Monthly reporting
- Trend Analysis
- Collaborates with other members of the finance group to support overall department goals and objectives
- Other duties as assigned
SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED
- Reports to the Director of Finance
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- 0-4 years of related accounting work experience, preferred
- Intermediary knowledge of accounting practices and procedures
- Financial analysis experience with ability to analytically problem solve
- Extremely accurate, curious and analytical
- Ability to multitask and solve problems using good judgment
- Strong communication skills with ability to influence and work well across multiple functions
- Strong learning agility with ability to grasp concepts quickly with limited supervision or direction
