Senior Accountant
Our company exists to promote and protect life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. We design, build, and support security and intelligence products. Our core expertise is in small, lightweight, low-cost radar systems for unmanned and manned aircraft, primarily in the military domain. We cover the entire lifecycle, often beginning with defining a market where none exists, designing and building the product, training the customer on how to use the system, and supporting it in the field.
We have an exciting opportunity and are looking to hire an experienced and proven Senior Accountant. This position will report directly to the CFO and will play a significant role in the growth and stability of IMSAR. We need someone with smarts, skills, enthusiasm and drive. The accounting team is small but capable. You'd be offering your input on how to build and grow this team while keeping costs low and following required GAAP and DCAA guidelines.
These are attributes that are required:
- At least a BS degree in accounting
- Five or more years of accounting or finance experience
- Attention to detail and ability to consistently comply with regulations, policies and procedures
- An active CPA license
These are examples of attributes and specific skills that are very important:
- Experience with Deltek Costpoint software is preferred
- Booking customer payments, bank transfers and petty cash transactions.
- Tracking fixed assets, calculating and booking depreciation expenses, reconciling fixed assets.
- Booking invoices, credit card charges, employee reimbursements, and general journal entries.
- Preparing and booking customer billings.
- Preparing income and expense accrual entries.
- Financial analysis and preparing graphs to track financial metrics.
- Reconciling COBRA insurance payments and invoices, and PTO liability accruals.
- Assisting with preparation of income tax supporting schedules, 1099s for vendors, sales/use tax and property tax reports and assisting with internal audits.
