I am seeking an In Home Personal Care Attendant to provide routine care for a 4 year old boy through the VA Medicaid Waiver System for up to 40 hours a week. Hours will vary weekly due to his special needs.

Location: Primarily in our home in Aylett, VA 23009

Responsibilities:

  • Provide routine individualized care to a 4 year old boy with special needs
  • Monitor and report changes in his health status
  • Provide personal care, such as bathing, changing diapers, and dressing
  • Fix meals and assist with eating

Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Good driving record and reliable vehicle
  • Must be able to pass a criminal record check and child protective services check.
  • Positive and patient demeanor
  • Ability to build rapport with children and their parents
  • Ability to handle physical workload
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

**Please understand that the hours are subject to service authorization and may be reduced by the Medicaid system with little to no notice.

**Time is logged via an app you will be asked to install on your personal cellphone which accesses your GPS each time you clock in and out.

**Due to the nature of this position, there is not a set schedule for breaks/lunch. You are welcome to bring lunch/snacks and may use an area in our spare fridge for your items.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $12.70 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
