What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bookkeeper position at IN*SOURCE?
Job Summary: Responsible for overseeing, processing, and preparing reports related to the accounting and payroll functions for IN*SOURCE. Position is flexible on working hours and remote working options.
Key Areas of Accountability
1. Accounting
- Manages and maintains IN*SOURCE General Ledger by accurately recording all organization financial transactions including assets, liabilities, revenues, and expenses.
- Processes payroll, prepares purchase orders, and completes invoice/bill payments in a timely manner.
2. Administrative
- Performs clerical accountant duties including accurate data entry and calculations.
- Maintains data records used in producing financial statements, contracted tax services, and other reporting purposes.
- Communicates with employees, outside vendors, and other personnel to exchange information as necessary.
3. Reporting and Recording
- Prepares financial reports as required by granting source and for preparing other financial statements as needed.
- Prepares and submits financial statements to Treasurer of the Board of Directors.
Minimum Job Qualifications
1. Education and Licensure: High school diploma and an associate degree in accounting and/or equivalent training is required.
2. Work Experience: Previous training and/or experience in bookkeeping and general accounting is required.
3. Working Conditions: Work is performed in a small office setting with options to complete some work virtually. Work hours are flexible given that critical routine deadlines are met. Must have the ability to sit and stand in the same position for prolonged periods of time. Must have the ability to handle moderate occupational stress.
4. Hardware and Software Use: Must use Microsoft tools, Google drive, and other software systems to manage payroll, accounting and other functions. Must use the phone, a computer, a printer/scanner/copier/fax machine, and other office equipment.
5. Training Requirements During Employment: May receive additional training for software packages and other updates as necessary. Must attend staff meeting and trainings.
6. Characteristics, Skills and Abilities: Additional requirements include advanced computer skills, excellent organizational skills, strong communication s kills, problem solving skills, and the ability to work effectively with the administrative team.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
