What are the responsibilities and job description for the Prototype Agronomist position at Inari Agriculture?
About the role....
The Prototype Agronomist will play a key role in executing the protocol and gathering valuable data on edited corn and soybean germplasm. This role is a great place for Prototype Agronomist to network across functions (Transformation/Science team, Early Product Development/EPD, commercial and operation segments of INARI). The agronomist will have the opportunity to take a first stab at screening edited lines coming out of our robust gene editing pipeline at an early stage of development for desirable phenotypes of interest.

- Understand product concepts to enable appropriate experimental designs to generate relevant phenotypic data
- Collaborate with scientists in designing and validating high-throughput phenotyping methods using digital/automated tools, when applicable
- Perform greenhouse-based measurements that could include various plant biological parameters (both morphological and physiological), plant architecture and basic yield components
- Work closely with the molecular characterization team to associate the molecular data with the phenotyping data, when applicable
- Participate in planting seeds, sampling and collecting seeds for inventory
- Communicate phenotypic results to stakeholders in written technical reports and oral presentations
- Contribute to the ongoing development of high-throughput methodology for phenotyping
You Bring…
