The Role
We are seeking an experienced Data Project Manager / Scrum Master to join our team and lead the project management of our software development scrum and data (ETL) kanban projects leading innovation within our development teams. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the process of two Scrum software development teams as well as one small data ETL team. The successful candidate will have experience in Agile methodologies, project management, and data analysis.
The position requires you to join our hybrid work environment - our team comes to our El Segundo office twice per week (Tues/Thurs).
Responsibilities in Product Scrum:
- Run daily Stand-ups, Planning sessions and Review/Retrospective meetings for two software development teams using Scrum/Agile methodologies
- Create and track end of sprint reports to analyze velocity and team performance using Jira and related plugins
- Coordinate communication and encourage collaboration across teams and stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery
- Analyze and communicate sprint process issues to stakeholders and team members
- Ensure timely and accurate delivery of project objectives, milestones, and deliverables
- Ensure adherence to best practices, quality standards, and project objectives
- Develop and maintain project plans, status reports, and risk/issue logs to ensure visibility and transparency across the organization
Responsibilities in Data ETL Team (Kanban):
- Develop and manage project plans, budget and timeline.
- Work with team members and stakeholders to keep them accountable for project deliverables.
- Lead and coordinate one data ETL team (software developers and researchers) operating in a kanban format
- Interface with the Data Strategy Team to manage ETL project priorities and timelines
- Manage part time / outsourced researchers on an as needed basis to support various ETL Projects
- Work closely with Credits and Incentives specialists within our team to understand data requirements
Qualifications:
- Scrum Master Certification
- 4 years of experience in project management, specifically in software development projects
- Strong understanding and experience with Agile methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban
- Strong understanding of the complete SDLC and release planning/management.
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously and related capacity planning
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Experience working with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
- Mid to high level technical expertise in project and office-related systems, including full Google Drive / Microsoft Office suite (Sheets/Excel with basic functions and pivot tables)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- PMI or Agile certification is a plus
- Experience with Business Intelligence Software (ie; PowerBI, Tableau, etc) is a plus
