What are the responsibilities and job description for the Andrologist position at Inception?
We are seeking to add a PRN Andrologist to our team. The Andrologist will perform all the laboratory procedures in Reproductive Chemistry and Andrology required for an in-vitro fertilization (IVF) cycle including hormone assay, preparation of semen samples for artificial insemination and IVF, cryopreservation of sperm, and complete sperm analysis assessed. Assist as support role for embryology.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Performs all Andrology services, including preparation of semen samples for artificial inseminations and IVF, cryopreservation of sperm, and complete sperm analysis assessed by World Health Organization (WHO) standards.
- Performs laboratory quality control (QC), quality assessment (QA), and participates in quality improvement (QI) programs, record keeping and collection of data.
- Performs other duties as assigned, and in keeping with Prelude Fertility policies, procedures and standards of patient care and initiatives toward continuous improvement at the individual and organizational level.
- Supports and actively participates in initiatives designed to improve individual and organizational performance.
- Follows all laboratory SOPs and OSHA guidelines including universal precautions for blood borne pathogens.
- Performs comprehensive semen analysis, including sperm count, motility, progression, morphology, and viability (if indicated).
Education and/or Experience:
- Laboratory Technologist or bachelor's degree in science related field is required.
- 1-year prior laboratory experience.
- Ability to participate in a rotating schedule that includes some weekends, holidays and early morning or late afternoon hours.
