Ultrasound Technician

The Ultrasound Technician is responsible for the daily performance of high-quality diagnostic ultrasounds.

• Prepare room and ultrasound machine for diagnostic testing
• Review patient chart and other pertinent information prior to testing.
• Explain testing process and procedures to patients and answer any patient questions.
• Perform appropriate diagnostic tests in a timely manner
• Obtain measurements and calculations of female anatomy while performing a detailed ultrasound examination.
• Utilize techniques that result in optimized images.
• Obtain appropriate images that clearly demonstrate ultrasound findings in accordance with specified protocols and accreditation standards.
• Communicate effectively with medical staff regarding pertinent ultrasound findings in a concise, complete, accurate, and timely manner.
• Perform departmental tasks that are necessary to maintaining quality throughout all aspects of job duties performed.
• Document results utilizing our electronic medical records system.
• Exam Room Maintenance
• Clean and maintain equipment
• Maintain stock of supplies
• Stock linens and maintain rooms in a neat and orderly manner
• Ensure all imaging equipment is up to date with preventative maintenance
• Maintains strictest confidentiality, in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
• Complies with applicable regulations, accreditation standards, and laws, adheres to the policies, procedures and rules of the Company, follows Company protocols and standard operating procedures, and complies with all safety policies.
• Provides a safe environment for patients, visitors and staff and complies with appropriate and approved safety standards.
• Performs other duties/special projects and tasks as assigned by management.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

• Graduate of a program resulting in the certification as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS).
• Valid Diagnostic Medical Sonographer with OB/GYN certification
• Certified in first trimester screening
• At least one year of experience in OB/GYN or fertility practice strongly preferred.
• Current BLS certification

Responsible for ultrasounds including but not limited to:

• Follicular Counts
• Saline Infusion
• Transvaginal
• Pregnancy Sonograms
